Communication is fun, always want to convince others to believe what we believe

The night I first met Mr. Charles Lee.
At seven o'clock, the teacher arrived at the library on time.
I poured a glass of whiskey for him.
We were able to get acquainted with each other through the strong drink before we started recording.

An hour or so later, we started recording.

The session lasted more than seven hours in total.
We talked all the way from 7pm to 5am.
We drank a lot and talked a lot.
It was as if we wanted to take this night to share our thoughts and past experiences in one go.
It was like a competition, a friendly competition of mutual respect.

Like Charles said at the end, it was a great night.

There was wine, there were stories.
We spent every second understanding each other.
Profound, not always touching, but not overly sentimental.
Especially those moments of silence.
Without any words, we seemed to know something.

We are all looking at ourselves through the lives of others.

Communication is funny.
It's always about convincing others to believe what we believe, or not to believe what we don't believe.
Or not to believe what we don't believe.
If that's all, it's all in vain.

I like what Charles said: the purpose of communication is to get closer, not to convince.

This night, I knew that we had gotten closer to an interesting soul.
Of course, we also got closer to ourselves.
