The stitch I'm going to introduce to you today is called basket weave stitch.
It's one of the most common techniques used to crochet scarves, blankets, handbags and wallets. This tutorial is specially designed for those who are already familiar with FPDC and BPDC. Here is the brief summary of the process: You start by working out the number of chain stitch required for the mentioned technique to be applied. It must be a number divisible by 4 plus 1. In other words, if the swatch is 4-square long, the number of chain stitches you need to make is 17(= 4x4+1). Simple, right?

Materials:
Wool: Jeans YarnArt (Turkey)
Color: Green (82)
Hook: 3.5mm
Needle

Crochets used in this tutorial include:
1. Chain stitch
2. Double stitch
3. Half double stitch
4. FPDC (Front post double stitch)
5. BPDC (Back post double stitch)
