It takes a lot of practicing to step up your crocheting skills. Besides practicing, you could benefit considerably from professional tips such as invisible increases and increase displacement. However, that is not the full package. If a perfect finish seems to be what you have been trying to get hold of, I believe that I could give you some advice on that.
As you may already know, we often slip a stitch to end a row. But this way of finishing up results in the rise of the last crochet which disturbs row alignment. Moreover, the presence of a tie at the end does not seem to please the eyes.

Look out for the word "fasten off" in the key chart.

3 common situations:
0:38 Single crocheting a circle
2:47 Crochet a rectangle with single stitch by turning the work over as you move into the next row
3:29 Single crocheting a spiral circle
Slipping a stitch at the end could bring out some flaws in either of the situations mentioned above. Watch the video until the end to learn better ways to fasten off.
