Gram Staining Procedure is a differential staining procedure used to differentiate bacteria into two separate groups such as gram-positive bacteria and gram negative bacteria.
The difference in cell wall composition makes bacterial cells react differently to gram stain.
After a successful gram staining procedure, Gram-positive bacteria appear purple in color and Gram-negative bacteria appear Pinkish-red in color.
