On the day Mark Rothko passed away on February 25, 1970, nine of his Seagram murals he had left in the warehouse arrived in England. The red murals, which are much deeper and darker than previous works, seem to suggest apocalyptic, prophetic, and sacrificial temple images with unknown fear. What is going on in his showroom?
