Shortly after we arrived in Utah, we decided to take a snowmobile trip to Yellowstone National Park and see what it's like in the winter. As you may know, the only way to do this is with a tour group, so we booked with Yellowstone Vacation Tours. If interested, book early, as the spots fill up pretty fast. It was a 4.5 hour trip from Layton, Utah to West Yellowstone, Montana - we left after work on Thursday so we could take the trip and still get a day of skiing in over the weekend.

We went ahead and rented their snowsuit, helmet and boots - you have to wear a DOT approved helmet, and can't rent just the helmet....so full suit it was.

The morning was a bit hectic, until we actually got into the park. Then we got to ride the snowmobiles, take in the scenery and see whatever wildlife presented itself. Much like visiting in the summer, you will see plenty of bison.

There were significantly less people in the winter, and the scenery was great. We did the Hayden Valley/Yellowstone Falls tour, and it was an all day event. We got back shortly before dark.

To wrap it up, we had dinner at the Buffalo Bar, which was surprisingly good. Not sure if we were hungry, or the food was good....I think the food was good.
