The most anticipated video of this year is already on our channel! Here is the first part of the Cirrus Vision Jet review - the most unique, unrepeatable, safest, cheapest, and most economical jet.
Announced in the early 2000s, its first prototype has been shared in 2008. It was finally put into production in 2012 and received an FAA type certificate in 2016.
At least 237 aircraft have already been produced since then and the factory simply couldn't cope with the flow of orders; there were already 430 aircraft in the pre-order even before receiving the certificate. To date, there is no exact number of pre-orders, but the figure is close to 1,000. At the end of 2017, orders for 650-700 serial numbers were accepted. Originally, the basic model was sold for $1.4 million, and - for $ 1.96 million in 2018, while the waiting time has reached 5-6 years. Today it can be purchased for a little more than $ 3 million, but out of line (if someone really wants to get a plane next year, you can contact me).
All this confirms the huge public interest in this model. And this is not surprising at all - this is the cheapest business jet that can carry up to 5 adults (and 2 children) over a distance of 1,000 miles, with the lowest cost of a flight hour in the world of jets. Meanwhile, it is the safest jet (despite one engine). It is the only jet in the world with a parachute system and an emergency landing system. I have not seen anything like it and have not met any even close analogs (Piper announced an emergency landing system as well, but it does not have a parachute system).
I am actually a big fan of this aircraft, and I believe that the future of General Aviation belongs to it and whoever flies on pistons and turboprop today will smoothly choose the Vision Jet over the next 10 years because its whole philosophy is focused on the owner - the pilot... The main idea was precisely to create such a jet that could be operated by any private pilot with 200+ hours of flight time and an instrumental rating. And it seems to me that the issue has been completely and successfully solved.
