India today is almost a developed country. Presently its GDP is fifth largest in the world. People are aspiring for comfort and a new experience in Rail Travel. Budget airways were attracting rail passengers with their low cost tickets. Suddenly flying became more attractive and affordable. This affected railways in the premier segment.
Suddenly, the Railways department realized that they have to attract the higher segment passengers back into its fold. For this they had to introduce trains that are modern and faster to attract the passengers. So, it introduced Vande Bharat, a new concept in day time travel between cities that can be reached in less than 9 to 10 hours. Though the train is supposed to travel at 160 kms per hour, in reality it only does around 130 kmph. But it is a game changer for Railways as it has succeeded in its plan to lure back its patrons. The train has gained a lot of popularity due to several features incorporated in the train which is as good as traveling in an aero plane excepting for the speed part.
It is a little disconcerting to see passengers not behaving responsibly in the matter of cleanliness in the train. We can see a lot of trash strewn on the floor, toilet not being flushed after use, dirtying of the area around the commode or wc and floor. I wish people had displayed more civic sense to keep this prestigious train neat and tidy.
