PARTS AND TOOL LINKS:

NOTE: Any Amazon links will be through our Amazon Affiliates link - so Vortex Garage may get a small commission from that. However I do want to point out that I only post things I have used, or would use assuming the orignial isn't available, or as an alternate option. I do not currently have any product sponsors or do any product placement - things I link to are things I've bought or would buy if alternatives.

-----PARTS FOR FRONT DOUBLE CARDAN SHAFT:-----

Front U-Joint:
SPICER 5-153X U-Joint / 1310 Series
https://amzn.to/3S52UVc
NOTE: In the video, I had three of these - one I used in the front driveshaft at the diff side, and the other two for the rear driveshaft. You CAN technically use these in the double cardan joint (as I understand) though I used MOOG 269s instead. I think the large greasefitting on these may interfere so if you use them you'll probably want to get low profile grease fittings or install caps when in use. If you did use them successfully, leave a comment and share if they work with the grease caps they include!

Double-Joint U-Joints:
MOOG 269
https://amzn.to/4eZTWlE
NOTE: 2 are needed for the cardan joint.

Spicer 211544X Socket Yoke Assembly (1 needed)
https://amzn.to/3XY95Op
NOTE: Technically this part CAN be rebuilt, but I have never personally done it. The video doesn't include rebuilding this. But it appears you can get DANA part 10018440 to do this. It looks like the unit is pressed in, so extracting it may be challenging. That part is also slightly hard to find, but Summit and RockAuto may stock it. If you've ever gone this route, leave a comment - was it worth it? If you are unsure, just get the assembly linked above.

Slinger - DL-SP-1310-1330-1350-SLINGER
Also known as: Spicer 2-86-418 Seal
https://amzn.to/4bFRVrY
NOTE: The long form part number has been hard to find - it appears in some research that "2-86-418" is the same part.

Strap and Bolts for Joints (Can use originals, but if needed replacement)

This appears to be the actual Dana/Spicer Part - but I haven't used it, but it sounds like it is:

----- TOOLS: -----
Banding tool (stlye used in video):

GEARWRENCH CV Joint Boot Clamp Tightening Wrench - 3191D
https://amzn.to/4bCCHnU
The kit I received used the long bands needing this type of tool.

If you have the crimp bands, you'll want this one:
GEARWRENCH CV Boot Clamp Tool - 3955
https://amzn.to/3XSSN9D

It's great to have BOTH in the shop. But if you want an alternative, I haven't used these but they seem to have good reviews:

Alt. Toolset with both styles:
ABN CV Joint Ear Clamp Banding Tool & Boot Crimp Pliers 2-Piece Kit

---- Video Description -----

In this video, we have Part 2 of the Jeep WJ Driveshaft Special! In the final chapter of the Jeep WJ Driveshaft saga (lol), we take a look at the rear driveshafts in WJs. Then, we reinstall the driveshafts in the 4.7l WJ (with the double cardan front), and finally wrap up the special with the install of the front rzeppa shaft in the 4.0l WJ.
