On this hot and humid spring day, North Star and Pug Dog hike the 3.1 moderate-rated Lonesome Lake Trail from Lafayette Campground. This hike includes gradual switchbacks, stunning views of both Lonesome Lake and Franconia Ridge, and, during a normal hiking season, a rest stop at the beautiful Lonesome Lake Hut. The hike during springtime also includes lots of bugs, so bug spray and head-nets are necessary. Additionally, this hike served as a test run for Pug Dog, who is 20 weeks pregnant at the time of this hike.
