I guess you could call this a hand portrait...?

It's a commissioned painting of a grandfather holding his granddaughter's hand, and I thought my viewers might like to see me paint wrinkled skin. This was a challenge, and it took a couple of days for me to finish it. Hence the speed! 35x is a lot, I know!

I encourage anyone who is learning how to paint skin to try painting an elderly hand or face. You'll find it challenging but well-suited to watercolor. And if you're anything like me, I think you'll find that there is something really rewarding about meditating on aging for a couple of days.
