A WEDDING AT THE BELL IN TICEHURST
In the quaint village of Ticehurst, Sussex, The Bell Pub served as the perfect venue for the union of Sarah and Sam. A quirky little place, The Bell describes itself as a ‘home from home for everyone’, and has been operating on the site for nearly 500 years! It is certainly a slightly out-of the-ordinary venue for a wedding celebration, but Sarah & Sam’s big day proved that sometimes that makes things all the more special.

ARRIVAL IN STYLE
The proceedings began with Sarah's arrival at The Bell, a simple yet elegant entrance in a black taxi alongside her father. The classic choice of transportation added a personal touch to the occasion, as Sarah’s dad had been a Taxi Driver for many years.

Sam looked dapper in his black-tie and suit, and I managed to capture some lovely pre-ceremony moments of him with his parents as they helped him settle his nerves, and ensure everything was on point.

Under some glorious, unseasonal winter sun, Sarah made her entrance to The Bell, and proceeded down the aisle, arm-in-arm with her dad. The couple exchanged some beautifully personal vows, before sharing their first kiss as husband and wife (to rapturous applause!).

THE RECEPTION
After the ceremony, the guests were able to enjoy The Bell, Ticehurst’s many quirky rooms and nooks and crannies - one of the many reason’s why The Bell is such a great venue for a wedding. The couple's two dogs even made an appearance for a quick photo session.

With the sun setting earlier in the day due to the time of year, myself and the photographer Dale grabbed the newly-weds for a quick portrait session in the surrounding streets and gardens. I can’t believe how lucky we were - the golden light was absolutely perfect and allowed me to include lots of the beautiful footage in the film.

AFTER DINNER SECRETS
After the meal, a surprise performance by the secret singers took place - a secret only known to Sarah & Sam themselves. Secret singers always get the party going, but in this case even I was surprised at the enthusiasm and participation from the guests! About the half the wedding were on the feet singing and dancing for about 45 minutes, including an impromptu can-can line and classic hits such as ‘Sweet Caroline’ belted out at full volume! It certainly set the stage for a party that lasted long into the night, and ensured that this was a day to remember at The Bell, Ticehurst.
