The militants gained control of swaths of territory in and around their home state of Borno, estimated at 50,000 square kilometers, but did not capture the state capital, Maiduguri, where the group was originally based. Boko Haram's leader Abubakar Shekau pledged allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. According to the BBC, due to internal disputes between the two groups, hundreds of terrorists left Boko Haram and formed their own organization, named "Islamic State's West Africa Province".
The Director of Information at the Defense Headquarters of Nigeria announced that all Boko Haram camps had been destroyed but attacks from the group continue. The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, claimed that Boko Haram was "technically defeated". However, attacks by Boko Haram have a separate investigation conducted by The Wall Street Journal backed recent claims that Shekau was dead.
SITUATION:
After the successful Raid & Mechanical Ambushes of Boko's Logistical Hub in AO Blackhollow, Boko's remaining forces fled into the hill to the East of the AO. ISR shows multiple small camps within a 9x2 kilometer region.
Enemy: Unknown Enemy Composition & Disposition. Approximately 10 camps with roving patrols expected.

MISSION:
AFO OMEGA WILL CONDUCT A LONG-RANGE RECON PATROL IVO THE EASTERN HILLS OF AO BLACKHOLLOW IOT CLEAR REMAINING ENEMY POSITION & QRD FREEDOM OF MANEUVER
EXECUTION:
AFO OMEGA will conduct a Long-Range Reconnaissance Patrol starting in Savala moving to the Cattle Town to clear and bivouac for the night to protect the town and move to continue the LRRP at nautical twilight.
1.) Recon From Savala To "Cattle Town"
2.) Recon From "Cattle Town" To "Slaughter Farm"
3.) Destroy Any Patrols & Camps Encountered
4.) Destroy Any Target of Opportunity
