Ancient Polynesian Body Alignment

Ancient Polynesian Body Alignment (APBA), also referred to by Freddie as Kake Ki Runga, is his method of healing, rooted in the traditional practices taught by his grandmother, Pakau.

The mana (spiritual power) of this practice comes from Freddie's ancestral lineage and spiritual connection. It was Freddie's grandmother who taught him the foundation of traditional healing of prayer, body alignment, pole work and nutrition. Throughout Freddie’s life, he continued to develop, practice and teach his method of healing around the world. Ancient Polynesian Body Alignment has helped many people to improve their overall spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health and wellbeing.

Body Alignment

Ancient Polynesian Body Alignment is done with the client laying on a lauhala mat on the floor, as it has been done since ancient times. Several techniques are used such as maoro/pushing with the palm heel, romi romi/kneading with the hands, and kake ki runga/climbing up the body using your hands and stepping with the feet. The body is stretched, extended, opened up and grounded into its natural state of being.

Freddie’s Ancient Polynesian Body Alignment has helped many people who suffered from acute and chronic conditions. He emphasized the importance of restoring and maintaining the natural body system by elongating the whole structure through his comprehensive bodywork. He stood, kneeled and climbed over the body while at times using a wooden pole to balance himself as he used his feet or hands to mold the back and front of the body into alignment. Freddie would also use his hands to stretch the body while pressing on certain points. He has helped people suffering from neck, shoulder, arm, wrist, back, knee and foot pain. Many times the person would come in with a cane and leave without it.
