π DESTINATION: Bald Rock, Bald Rock National Park
πΆββοΈ WHAT: Bushwalking
π WHERE: About 30km from Tenterfield via Mount Lindsay Road.
ββ WHY: To see and climb Australia's largest granite monolith - fabulously picturesque Bald Rock.
π₯΅π₯΅π₯΅ DIFFICULTY: There are two ways to reach the summit. The sensible, somewhat easier, but longer Bungoona walk, or the very steep, physically demanding Rockface walk. We went up the hard way, but the views were incredible.
π ROADS AND PARKING: This is a two wheel drive location - sealed all weather roads, with plenty of parking at the foot of the rock.
β±π TIME/DISTANCE: If you go up the rockface and down by Bungoona, it's about 3.5km, but the summit is at 200m high. Allow at least a few hours and plenty of time to stop and look at the glorious views.
π₯Ύπ₯Ύ CLOTHING: You will need sturdy walking shoes with good grip - especially if you go up the rockface. It's quite exposed too, so sun safety!
π₯ͺπ§ FOOD AND WATER: You will need to carry all your food and plenty of water. There is a picnic area near the car park.
π» TOILETS: Yes, There are toilets near the carpark.
βΏ ACCESSABILITY: There is no wheelchair access.
