Suwon is a satellite city located about a 30-minute subway ride from Seoul. Seoho Lake was an artificial water reservoir built during the Joseon Dynasty when King Jeongjo constructed Hwaseong Fortress. It takes approximately one hour to walk around the lakeside. Considering that it was a man made lake created in the 1700s, the size of the artificial lake is quite astonishing, isn't it? The calm lake is not only peaceful but also serves as a migratory stop for various birds. In autumn, citizens flock to the lakeside trails to enjoy the vibrant colors of the leaves. 수원은 서울에서 지하철로 약 30분 정도 거리에 위치한 위성 도시입니다. 서호는 조선시대 정조가 화성을 쌓으면서 축조한 저수지로, 호숫가를 한 바퀴 도는 데는 대략 한 시간 정도가 소요됩니다. 1700년 대에 만들어진 인공 호수임을 생각하면 그 크기가 상당히 놀랍지요? 잔잔한 호수가 고즈넉할 뿐만 아니라 기러기, 청둥오리, 가마우지 등 다양한 철새들이 거쳐 가는 도래지이기도 합니다. 가을에는 호수변의 산책로를 걸으며 색색으로 물든 단풍을 즐기는 시민들로 북적인답니다. 서울 하이커와 함께 떠나 볼까요?
