Pithru paksha

It is an auspicious sixteen-day period to express gratitude to our ancestors for providing our existence on Earth by performing sacred ancestral rituals and annadaan (food donation). Pitru Paksha is also known as the fortnight of ancestors, where the realm of ancestors is closer to the Earth plane.
