Año 1961. Inauguración del monumento al Laureado Tercio de Requetés de Nuestra Señora de Montserrat por su heroico papel y sacrificio en la Cruzada Española de 1936.

Entre las muchas hazañas del Tercio de Montserrat, destaca la heroica defensa de Codo, atacado en la madrugada del 24 de agosto de 1937 por fuerzas numéricamente muy superiores, donde 190 Requetés, incluyendo oficiales, personal de oficina, cocina y sanitarios, hicieron frente a 10000 adversarios. Esta gesta defensora del Tercio le valió la Cruz Laureada de San Fernando, junto con la Laureada individual otorgada al Requeté Jaume Bofill; máxima condecoración militar existente en España.

El monumento estaba ubicado ante la Cripta-Mausoleo de los Requetés que murieron, y fue rabiosamente retirado el pasado año, en una suerte de venganza por los que perdieron la Cruzada de Liberación. Seis meses antes de la retirada también habían profanado el interior de la Cripta.

1961. Inauguration of the monument to the Carlist Soldiers Unit of Our Lady of Montserrat for its heroic role and sacrifice in the Spanish Crusade of 1936.

Among the many feats of the Unit of Montserrat, the heroic defence of Codo stands out, attacked at dawn on August 24, 1937, by numerically superior forces, where 190 Carlist soldiers, including officers, kitchen and health personnel, faced 10000 adversaries. This defensive feat of the Unit earned it the Laureate Cross of Saint Ferdinand, along with the individual Laureate Cross awarded to the Carlist soldier Jaume Bofill; the highest existing military decoration in Spain.

The monument was located close to the Crypt-Mausoleum of Carlist soldiers who died, and it was furiously removed last year, in a sort of revenge, from those who lost the Liberation Crusade. Six months before the removal they also desecrated the interior of the Crypt.
