DESCRIPTION
Panoramic excursion on the Sassopiatto and Sassolungo group.
The itinerary we propose is a classic of the Dolomites: the Sassolungo tour. Starting from the Sella pass in an hour and 15 you arrive at the Rifugio Demetz along a fairly steep path, especially in the final part, but without particular difficulties. Arrived at the refuge, and then at the Forcella Sassolungo, you will find yourself between: on the left the croda Cin Deic - Cinque Dita (2998 m), the croda Sas da Duman - Sasso Levante (3114 m) and the Sasplat - Sassopiatto (2954 m) and , on the opposite side, Spallone de Sassolungo (3081 m). The 45-minute descent to the Rifugio Vicenza is a bit challenging, because the ground is slippery. Continuing on the flat path number 526 called Via Stradal, you can admire the Alpe di Siusi and return to the Sella Pass.

ITINERARY
The departure is from Passo Sella (2180 m) from the valley station of the Sassolungo cable car. Go up the path 525 towards the Forcella del Sassolungo where the Rifugio Toni Demetz is located (2685 m). Now continue the downhill path and after passing the Rifugio Vicenza (2253 m) take path 526 which, turning clockwise around the Sassolungo, leads to the Rifugio Emilio Comici (2153 m). Continuing on the 526 you return to Passo Sella.
