The video was filmed in Siberia last summer. The Krasnoyarsk region is extremely suffering from various consequences of climate change: heat waves, oil spills caused by permafrost thawing, and raging forest fires. It is a clear evidence of a climate emergency.

Northern forests stretch from Canada across Scandinavia to Russia. Although separated by oceans, they form a large, shared ecosystem And they play an important role in the fight against climate change: nowhere else is as much carbon stored as in the forests of the north.

Although many countries have committed to protecting forests, this ecosystem is in grave danger. Deforestation and fires are destroying the green crown of our planet. This not only threatens the habitat of numerous animals. Deforestation and fires also release vast amounts of stored carbon and further fuel global warming as CO2.
