A full account of my Aconcagua Mountain Guides lead ascent of the highest mountain in the Americas. We traveled via the Normal Route and over the course of 16 days managed to successfully reach the summit.

After a summer dedicated to climbing 14,000' peaks in Colorado, I began looking for a larger scale project and landed on Aconcagua. I committed to the climb with four months of targeted training available and began a regimen aimed at prepping my body for the extreme elevation I would experience on the mountain.

It was my objective to summit the mountain and document as much of the experience as possible to set expectations for those interested in climbing this iconic peak as well. I hoped to show, in an engaging way, what the day to day activities look like on this extended expedition. I looked to capture camp life and the work that goes into the climb between breaks and rest days.

We were fortunate to have extremely good weather for the entirety of the trip. This, along with deliberate training and preparation, allowed me to reach the summit successfully.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback and any questions I might be able to help with if you're looking for resources/references to plan your own trip.
