Optimal 27

I finally got my grandson John David to shoot this how. The belly billets, for this bow were taken from the upper side of a curved Osage Orange limb, which accounts for the natural reflex in the limbs. The natural sight window and deflex in the returns are a result of the way the grain swirls and deflexes next to a knot. In short if belly billets are taken from a section of a log which has the natural characteristics and spliced together the result can be an all natural reflex deflex center shot bow, as is the case with this bow. Granted I touched up the reflex in the limbs for uniformity. The bow is 60 3/4” nock to nock, and pulls 35 lbs at 28”. The tips are burled red mulberry, and the grip is beaver tail which I stripped and re-dyed.
