Video for the http://www.newquaysurfer.org blog. Surfing footage 2nd-4th Sept 2010 at Fistral Beach Newquay when there was a spate of good surf, sunshine and offshore winds gracing the north Cornish coast.

They were interesting conditions as it was very setty on the day and there were times when even a beginner could paddle out - however when the sets came they were often well overhead and quite hollow so a fair few newbies got a pounding and the lifeguards had their work cut out.

When the surf at fistral beach gets a bit overhead its often accompanied by quite rippy conditions out back so your forced to paddle a lot to stay in position. I think on this particular day this was a major factor and many surfers when they came out of the water were exhausted!

As any surfer who shoots video knows it can be tough filming others when you want to be in the water, but I think it was worth it in the end for this video. I like to think it captures the vibe of the local surf scene in Newquay.

It was September and the end of the tourist rush that over takes Newquay in August. The tourist crowds had died down a bit and for a few days the waves were pumping So this is a video where local surfers and pros make the most of the waves that are on offer, and any tourists left in town enjoyed watching.

This video features video clips of surfers includes Spencer Hargraves, Grishka Roberts, Sarah Beardmore, Matt Rodwell, Candice o' Donnell as well as some other local faces.
