The lake at 3,800 mt is a mountain tarn and usually snow and rain fed. The lake offers a 360 degree panoramic view of the entire Pir Panjal Range, Dhauladhar range and Manalsu glacier.

The lake remains carpeted with soft grass with beautiful alpine flowers studded over them from the month of June to September and remains snow bound for the rest of the year.
