Want to be able to make anything you can dream of? It all starts with having your basic pattern blocks. This video (pt.1) shows you how to create your own basic skirt blocks with darts for non-stretch fabric. The next video (pt.2) shows you how to solve common fitting issues (e.g., width and location of waist and hip, hip contour, dart position and size)    • Beginner: Solve Common Fitting Issues...  . A note on back darts:
*If hip – waist circumference is less than or equal to 5” (13cm), use 1 back dart
*If hip – waist circumference is greater than 5” (13cm), use 2 back darts

Dart numbers:
*Front dart: 3” (7.6cm) long, 0.5” (1.3cm) wide
*Back dart (single): 5” (12.7cm) long, 1” (1.3cm) wide
*Back dart (double): 5” (12.7cm) long, 1.5” (3.8cm) wide AND 3” (7.6cm) long, 0.625” (1.6cm) wide

Inches to cm conversions: Round to the nearest 0.1 cm.
For example, 0.25" = 0.6cm, 0.5" = 1.3cm, 0.75" = 1.9cm, 1" = 2.5cm...
