Today we’re heading into East Yorkshire as The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Goes back in time to Cottam Church.

Cottam was previously an Anglo-Scandinavian medieval village that was deserted. All that remains today is the now derelict Church of Holy Trinity which was rebuilt in 1818 and again c. 1890. The font of the first Norman church on the site is now in Langtoft church.

In more recent times there was a WW2 airfield RAF Cottam, a former Royal Air Force satellite airfield 3.9 miles (6.3 km) northwest of RAF Driffield, the airfield was used only occasionally for flying due to the frequent bad weather high on the Wolds, mostly being utilised as a bomb storage site.

Grab your cuppa, let’s go.

Ride safe,
Dave
