Our viewers suggested that this park, Fort McAllister State Park should have been included in our tour of Georgia's great state parks. So on our way to the warmer weather of Florida we decided to dilly dally just a bit and take in this park... and boy, are we glad we did! It has so much to offer. The history alone is worth spending a day exploring and taking it all in. Then there's 12 miles of hiking, a boat dock and launching area and lots of water trails and fishing for kayaking and boating. On your bikes you can see all the park plus restaurants and stores close by. This park is about as close to perfect as you can find... anywhere! Can you tell?... WE LOVED IT!
