Thank you all for viewing this clip, in this format. It is an honor to become part of a legacy to a great tradition at (Phineas) Banning High School. Live footage from an era is not so easy to come across, so please understand that all pre-digital recordings appear in good faith under 562HARBORAREA on YouTube.com, with the highest quality in audio and video, significant to this one, and with a purpose of salvaging memories for which many can use to experience as they wish.

Once upon a time, the Pilots football team had an almost perfect record; from traveling to Hawaii in order to win their first game against Kahuku High School to earning a spot in the semifinals with a school from the San Fernando Valley. The year was 1991. The Pilots were still in the playoffs, playing Kennedy High School from Granada Hills and pushing their way to the Los Angeles City 4A Division Championship with an undefeated record and one (legitimate and respectful) forfeit. Just like the Pilots football team, cheer and song squad, and the Marching Pilots, several supporting fans got together, with an economical thought, and rented charter busses to travel to the valley in order to witness a 26-6 semifinal victory against the Golden Cougars, making the BHS Pilots football team a contestant for the 4A city title once again.

This video clip that you will be watching does not have the entire game. It does not have any snippets nor pictures either. What it does contain is the entire halftime performance of the Banning High School Marching Pilots for you to be able to think back and reflect on an exciting moment in time. Enjoy.
