Jalan Dewi Sartika is the name of one of Jakarta's major roads. The street is named after a national hero, Dewi Sartika. This road connects the Cililitan intersection which is a meeting between Jalan Raya Bogor, Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo, and Jalan Cililitan Besar with Jalan Otto Iskandardinata. In fact, Dewi Sartika Street is one part of Jalan Raya Pos (or better known as Jalan Daendels/Jalan Raya Anyer Panarukan) which was built by the Governor General of the Dutch East Indies, Herman Willem Daendels (where Jalan Raya Bogor and Jalan Otto Iskandardinata are also part of Jalan Daendels) if you look at the old map of Jakarta during the colonial period. This road crosses two urban villages, namely:
Cililitan Village, Kramat Jati Subdistrict, East Jakarta
Cawang Urban Village, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta

Cililitan is one of the urban villages in Kramat Jati Sub-district, East Jakarta Administrative City, DKI Jakarta Province, Indonesia. This urban village was expanded from Cawang Urban Village on July 29, 1986. Cililitan Urban Village has an area of 1.76 km2 with a population of 50,730 people in the 2020 census.

Cililitan was named after one of the tributaries of the Cipinang River. Today, there are no traces of the creek. The word ci, which is Sundanese, means river water. Lilitan - fully lilitan - kutu, is the name of a shrub whose scientific name is Pipturus velutinus Wedd., belonging to the Urticeae family (Fillet 1888:201).

In the mid-17th century the Cililitan area was part of the Tandjoeng Oost partisan land, when it was still owned by Pieter van der Velde (De Haan 1910:50). Then it changed hands several times until it was renamed Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. The airfield is usually called Cililitan Airfield (vliegeld)[1].
