생성형 AI 기술이 무서운 속도로 발전하고 있다. 사진도, 영상도, 글도 너무나도 쉽게 인공지능에 의해 창조(라 할 수 없는 창조)되고 있으며 가짜 뉴스와 딥페이크 등이 난무하는 등 이제는 더욱 진실을 찾기 어려운 시대가 되어 가고 있다. 기술의 발전은 과연 찬란한 미래를 가져다 줄 것인지, 혹은 디스토피아적인 결말일지 우리는 감히 예측할 수 없다.

아이러니하게도 허구와 허상이 많아질수록 우리는 진실과 진상(眞像)에 목마르게 되는데, 이러한 현상을 과거의 소재들과의 결합을 통해 표현해보고자 하였다. 크래프트적인 공법과 향수가 묻어있는 디즈니 캐릭터들을 얼킨만의 방식으로 재해석하여 표현한다.

Generative AI technology is developing at an alarming rate. Photos, videos, writings, and voices are so easily created by artificial intelligence, and fake news and deepfakes are rampant. We don't dare to predict whether technology will bring about a brilliant future or whether they will have a dystopian ending.

Ironically, as there is more false information and illusions, we become thirsty for truth, and we try to express this phenomenon through combination with past materials. Through collaboration with Disney, nostalgic characters are reinterpreted and expressed in ULKIN's way with crafty details.
