ಪ್ರಮುಖ ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕಾ ಬೆಳೆಗಳಾದ ಗೇರು ಹಾಗು ಮಾವಿನ ಫಸಲು ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಗಣನೀಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಸಿತ ಕಂಡಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕಾರಣ ಹವಾಮಾನ ವೈಪರೀತ್ಯ. ಗೇರು ಮಾವು ಕೃಷಿಯನ್ನೇ ನಂಬಿಕೊಂಡ ರೈತ ಈ ಫಸಲು ನಷ್ಟದಿಂದ ಕಂಗಾಲಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಕಚ್ಚಾ ಗೇರು ಬೀಜದ ಪೂರೈಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಬೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಒಂದು ಕೆಜಿ ಗೇರು ಬೀಜಕ್ಕೆ 100 ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಧಾರಣೆ ಇದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ 70 % ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ವೆಚ್ಚ ಹಾಗು ಕೂಲಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಿಂದ ಗೇರು ಕೃಷಿ ನಷ್ಟದತ್ತ ಮುಖ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ವಿದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕಚ್ಚಾ ಗೇರು ಬೀಜ ಆಮದಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದೂ ಬೆಲೆ ಕುಸಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಬಹುತೇಕ ರೈತರು ಅಡಿಕೆ ಕೃಷಿಯತ್ತ ಮುಖಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಮಾವು ಇಳುವರಿಯೂ ಸಹ ಹವಾಮಾನ ವೈಪರೀತ್ಯದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಗೇರು ಕೃಷಿಗಿಂತ ಮಾವು ಕೃಷಿಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಗೇರು ಬೆಳೆಯ ಜಾಗವನ್ನು ಮಾವು ಆಕ್ರಮಿಸಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರೈತರು ಮಿಶ್ರ ಬೆಳೆ ಅಥವಾ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಕೃಷಿ ಪದ್ಧತಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃಷಿಯಿಂದ ಲಾಭ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ.

Yield of agricultural crops like Cashew and Mango has been decreased this year. Reason for this is climate condition this year. Even though raw cashew nut production is not as much as demand, price for it is very less. As of now its rate is 100 rupee per KG. Production and labor cost is 70 % of it. So profit is very less for the farmers. Also India is importing raw cashew nut from foreign countries. tis is also the reason for low price. Due to this farmers are moving towards Areca nut agriculture.

Due to bad weather yield of Mango is also not so good. Processing of Mango is easier than cashew. So more farmers started growing Mango. Considering this years weather condition farmers have to adopt mix crop method to survive.
