In the past, the Toyota Hilux Raider was an affordable bakkie with decent build quality and vehicle dynamics, but was lacking certain creature comforts. With the new Hilux range update, the Raider has been upgraded to close the gap to the more expensive Legend model.

We take on a few gravel roads outside Cape Town, including a close call with a Hadeda bird, to see if Toyota was successful in their endeavour.
