Nissan Patrol was first launched in 1951. So it's a legendary story of last 70 plus years!
Did you know Ford too sold the patrol? They sold patrol as 'Ford Maverick' in Australia between 1988 and 1994.

Nissan is not selling the Patrol in India, but still there is an interesting connection the Nissan Patrol have with India - Around 1969, the Indian Army's Vehicle Factory Jabalpur began assembling the quarter-ton Nissan Patrol as the Jonga, along with the Nissan 4W73. JONGA was the short name for " Jabalpur Ordinance aNd Guncarriage Assembly "
The Jonga was sold to civilian customers with a 4.0-litre Hino diesel engine in 1996, however demand was low, due to an uncompetitive price. Less than 200 units were sold. The Jonga served in Indian Army faithfully until the late 1990s.
Auctioned ex-Army Jongas , modified as required, still serve in some rural areas of India.
