Mike plays in Nashville : Côtes du Rhône is a song I came up with originally in 1999, when traveling to Europe for two weeks each month on business. I stayed at a Novotel Hotel in Scheidham Netherlands, and there was a Q8 petrol station on the corner that carried a cheap bottle of Côtes du Rhône, that became a staple for me. At that time email was accomplished by using alligator clips to tap into the hotel phone and may a connection at blazing speeds like 9600 baud (bits per second). I have since continued traveling and just recently added a verse explaining why I was drinking alone although it is not recommended.
