New Zealand’s leading lady, KIMBRA, bought her signature electric and powerful performance to the stage at Powerstation on the 18th of November 2014. With her second album, The Golden Echo, freshly released, Kiwi popster Kimbra took over Auckland’s Powerstation for an evening and led her fans through 10 of the 12 tracks on the new disc, along with a few faves from her debut, Vows. Shrouded in a golden cape, a single light shone down on the singer, ensuring we all knew that tonight was about her. Shedding the cape, she revealed a metallic dress layered with gold foil and a bunch of other shiny objects. Visually she was exceptional, a simple lighting rig and the outfit served as the main components to this, but they worked. The lights shone off the dress as she danced around the stage to tracks like 90’s Music, and Nobody But You, working the stage as if she wasn’t wearing towering heels that even Lady Gaga would struggle to walk in.
