Piping models created in CADWorx Plant Professional, and structural models created in CADWorx Structure Professional, can be exchanged digitally with CAESAR II, Hexagon's Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division's pipe stress analysis solution. Incorporating the structural model to include the support and flexibility it provides as part of pipe stress analysis, enables the stress engineer to determine how best to deal with any stress problems in the piping.


Additionally, when physical changes to piping analysis models are needed to introduce flexibility to solve a stress problem, if these cannot be made due to space limitations, or other constraints, use of FEA Tools in combination with CAESAR II will determine whether the flexibility offered by the piping components themselves, in accordance with piping code B31J, will show if the unmodified piping design is still within allowable limits. This integration ensures that not only a safe and compliant piping design is produced, but also saves material, fabrication, and construction costs.
