“Ploy” in Thai means “precious gemstone” and these are said to have healing properties and energies. I carefully paired a gemstone to each song on my debut album so each of them can represent a different Ploy – in all the ways you can imagine. I have been so vulnerable in the last couple of years and this album is the result of a selection from my journals when I’ve found myself going through all the ups and downs of life. Thai-Italian artist Valentina Ploy is already an international superstar in the making. Born in the Southern part of Italy to an Italian father and a Thai mother, the singer-songwriter began her musical journey at the age of 7, learning how to play both the violin and guitar, and honing the art of songwriting from the comfort of her diary. Valentina’s endless curiosity about different forms of emotional expression also flowed into her interest in languages and she can speak Italian, Thai, English, Spanish and French fluently.
