FC Barcelona, one of the world’s most premier teams, and Grande Sports Academy, one of the most successful youth soccer development academies in the United States partnered in the summer of 2017 to create the Barça Residency Academy. The first of its kind, Barça Residency Academy is the exclusive residential academy of FC Barcelona in the United States. This unique partnership brings FC Barcelona’s famed training methodology and philosophy to the U.S. and provides players with a direct pathway from Barça Academy to FC Barcelona.

This unique partnership provides Barça Residency Academy players the opportunity to train annually at La Masia in Barcelona, Spain with their top academy teams in their respective age groups. This opportunity provides players with a once in a lifetime experience to measure and prove themselves against some of the best youth players in the world. The players are closely evaluated first hand by some of the world’s most renowned youth development experts with the potential to become FCB prospects.

Julian Araujo, Jake LaCava, Caden Clark and Edwin Arias were selected for the 2017-18 season. During their week-long trip, they trained and played in games at La Masia, toured the FC Barcelona facilities and the beautiful city of Barcelona. This incredible opportunity was an invaluable experience for the players as they were able to compare their level of play to the players at La Masia while gaining exposure that could eventually open doors to play at the highest level of soccer in the world.
