Kamala Harris LIVE: Harris Rallies Sharp Criticism Against Donald Trump in Vegas Nevada Rally | CBS Vice Presidential Debate LIVE | Trump | Kamala Harris Live | CNBC TV18
LAS VEGAS — Kamala Harris brought her “greatest hits” stump speech into Las Vegas Sunday night, aiming to capture swing state voters in an inflation-ravaged Nevada that hasn’t fully recovered from the COVID-era recession.
“I pledge to you as president, I will fight for all Americans and we will build a better future together,” she told the crowd, repeating her litany of accomplishments as California attorney general in securing settlements from banks and for-profit colleges. Wearing a brown pantsuit, a chocolate colored blazer and a gold necklace, Harris pledged a $50,000 tax cut for small businesses, stating that “Latina small businesses” are the backbone of the area’s economy.
Vice President Kamala Harris poked at Republican Donald Trump during a fancy fundraiser on Sunday, telling donors that as she campaigns around the country her “crowds are pretty big” — before heading to Nevada for a rally at the same venue where the GOP nominee appeared two weeks ago.
During the presidential debate, Harris appeared to get under Trump’s skin when she said people were leaving his rallies early because of his rambling speeches. And she’s kept it up on the campaign trail.
She also has moved into what Trump considers his terrain — immigration — with a Friday visit to the border town of Douglas, Arizona. It was her first trip to the U.S.-Mexico border since taking over for President Joe Biden atop the Democratic presidential ticket.
Harris’ four-day West Coast trip has been crafted with dual purposes: She was opening and closing with stops in Sun Belt battlegrounds — Arizona and Nevada — where the vice president is trying to shore up support as Trump pounds her relentlessly over illegal migration. And her mid-stay in California was devoted to hauling in campaign contributions from donors in her blue home state.
Vice President Kamala Harris made her first visit to the US-Mexico border as the Democratic presidential nominee Friday to hastily announce measures meant to mitigate the ongoing border crisis fewer than 40 days before election day — despite having been the White House border “czar” for more than three-and-a-half years.
Harris, 59, announced that if elected the 47th president, she would improve on an executive order announced by President Biden in June that barred migrants from applying for asylum when an average of 2,500 illegal migrants crossed the border for seven consecutive days.
