Throughout Bali and other areas around Indonesia, you will find rice fields. These fields range from ½ acre to 5 acres.
The fields are juxtaposed between roads and houses.
The multi layers are situated to help with irrigation. Where the top layer is irrigated first and then the water water gravitates to the lower levels.
Most fields are set up as a co-op where the field is divided and owned by several farmers. Part of the rice is kept for the families' use, and the rest is used for the market.
