Note about "go arounds:" I'd read about them in the past--but this is the first time I experienced one in real life! On the Boeing 737, there is a switch or button near the throttle levers that the pilot can press to activate "Take Off/Go Around" power (TO/GO for short). It was fun to hear the engines rev up in order to abort the landing and start climbing!
