We had a great time leading the Couth Buzzard session yesterday and this really really fun session tune, "La Moquine", written by Claude Méthé came up again. It's really popular in sessions in Québec just because it's SUCH a fun tune to play on the fiddle. It really makes clever use of French-Canadian syncopated bowing with slurred ornaments to create a swirling bowing pattern that's very satisfying.
