Dr. David Gushee spoke at The Open Table Collective in August of 2024 in a timely message based off his book Defending Democracy from its Christian Enemies. Gushee contends that Democracy as compare to any other system of government is the best choice we have so what is democracy, what is threatening the system, and how are Jesus centered people supposed defend it based off of their unique values. Dr. Gushee encourages Jesus centered people to move from ARC (Authoritarian Reactionary Christianity) to DCA (Democratic Convenental Abolitionist).
