Discoid lupus and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are very different but many are uncertain and worry unnecessarily. Just like SLE, there is a wide variety of types and severities of discoid lupus and whether someone needs the care of a rheumatologist with their dermatologist depends on many factors. Today we aim to clear up the confusion and discuss what is discoid lupus, how we diagnose it and how we treat it.
