STORY
Malls were once the pinnacle of the American dream, but many of these places are now abandoned or partially abandoned. In this video, we will explore one abandoned mall and one dead mall.
The abandoned mall is the Northridge Mall, which opened its doors in 1972 and thrived for many years. However, after only two decades of operation, problems began to surface, including internal corruption, external crime, and an exodus from the area. This led to a steep decline in traffic, and the mall eventually closed its doors in 2003 due to a lack of tenants.
The dead mall is a mall that is still open to the public, but only a few stores remain. It's an eerie place, with silent corridors and empty storefronts. The mall opened its doors in 1988, but it was doomed from the start. Management went bankrupt after just one year, and the mall's repeated ownership changes in the late 1990s decimated its tenant base.
In this video, we will explore both of these malls and give you a glimpse into what lies within. We will also interview several last customers of the dead mall, who knew what it was like when the mall was still in full operation.
This video is a must-watch for anyone interested in abandoned places, the decline of the American mall, or the social and economic factors that have led to the rise of dead malls.
