The wedding film format is impressively applicable for tons of life events. For example, I worked with the ever-talented Grace Helen Photo last spring, and shortly after, she invited us to crash her family’s photo shoot and film alongside Alexandra Grace Photo. It was our first attempt at a project like this, so I stuck with the basics; just a couple of lenses and a tripod. Big ups to Alexandra for planning this perfectly with the wildflower bloom.

I love working with film photographers because it always seems like we work at the same pace. The extra half-second here and there to pull focus, change film, etc., always slows me down enough to catch the extra moment that absolutely delivers in the editing bay.

I'll be filming my second family film this weekend with an identical setup, and I can’t wait to get back out there and play.
