Daman is a city and the capital of the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu in India. It's located on the western coast of India, in an enclave surrounded by the state of Gujarat.

Daman is a blend of Indian and Portuguese culture, a legacy of its colonial past. The Portuguese ruled Daman from 1539 to 1961, and their influence is still visible in the city's architecture, cuisine, and even some of the local customs.
How to Reach :
1. By Car: Daman is a relatively short drive from Mumbai, around 178.9 kilometers away. The drive takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. You can take the NH 8 highway which is well-maintained and connects Daman to other major cities.
2. By Train: There is no direct train connectivity between Navi Mumbai and Daman. However, you can take a train from Navi Mumbai to Vapi, which is the nearest railway station to Daman, located about 12 kilometers away. From Vapi, you can take a taxi, rickshaw, or bus to reach Daman. The total travel time, including the train journey and commute to Daman from Vapi, can take around 3 to 4 hours.
