♛ Find the complete game between Magnus Carlsen and Jan Krzysztof Duda shown in the video in this blog-post - https://chess-teacher.com/carlsen-bre...

In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov analyzes an exciting chess game between Magnus Carlsen and Jan-Krzysztof Duda, played during the 2021 Meltwater Tour Final. In this game, Magnus Carlsen broke several key chess opening rules and still managed to defeat world No. 18, Duda, in just 18 moves!

Carlsen adopted a gambit style right from the start, sacrificing a pawn, which Duda declined—likely showing too much respect for Carlsen's play.

However, Carlsen persisted with the pawn sacrifice on the following move, ultimately forcing himself into a situation where he had to move his king, losing the right to castle—breaking all classical chess opening principles!

Despite this, Carlsen launched a devastating middlegame attack featuring a brilliant rook lift and a piece sacrifice, ultimately leading to an unstoppable checkmate.

Watch the full analysis to understand Carlsen’s creative and aggressive play, and learn how breaking conventional rules can still lead to a stunning victory.
