In 2020, during the height of the COVID pandemic, “Old Students” of Lama Thubten Yeshe (1935-1984) gathered for a virtual event, "Big Love - Remembering Lama Yeshe." Hosted by Lama Yeshe student Judith Weitzner and produced in conjunction with the staff and volunteers of Tse Chen Ling Center for Tibetan Buddhist Studies, this landmark event brought together many students of Lama Yeshe to add to the oral history of this extraordinary teacher. Their stories gave a taste of his unique skills in expressing wisdom, compassion and humor. Lama was one of the very first teachers who brought Buddhism from Tibet to the West in the 1960’s. With his heart-son, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Lama founded the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition.
This event was presented simultaneously via Facebook LIVE on Tse Chen Ling’s Facebook page with an intimate Zoom Room-full of Lama Yeshe students sharing some of their experiences with him. Tse Chen Ling is dedicated to offering this program for free on Facebook to open it up to as many students and listeners as possible.

This clip features audio of a remembrance of Lama Yeshe shared by author Jon Landaw with images from the later part of Lama Yeshe's life and his cremation ceremonies.
