One of the central trends in pragmatism is the rejection of Cartesian thinking as the guide for contemporary philosophy, instead shifting towards a practical basis for forming beliefs based on an intimate investigation of the world of one's daily life, shifting your beliefs and doubts in proportion to their pragmatic effects.
